There are several evidenced based services offered to the young people in the state of Connecticut to address substance use and other co-occurring behaviors. These services are designed to be inclusive of all young people and their families. Services are offered at convenient times, in your home, community, or clinic. YRCT - Youth Recovery CT
A network of peer support groups using the SMART Recovery approach to support teens and young adults (ages 12-30) looking to change what they identify as problem behaviors.
AIM – Assisted Intervention Matching Tool
This tool will guide you through a series of questions to help you find services well-matched to the specific behavioral health needs of a child (mental health and/or substance use) or parent-focused services to promote child wellbeing.
FFT - Functional Family Therapy
A program for families with an adolescent (ages 11‐18) who is experiencing behavioral health issues. This in-home program works with the whole family to address the behavioral health issues by looking at recent past trauma and family patterns to decrease unwanted behaviors and increase family connections.
MDFT - Multidimensional Family Therapy
A family-centered in-home program to support children and adolescents (ages 9-18) with substance use or related behavioral health concerns that emphasizes behavior change in the natural environment and promotes parental engagement.
MST - Multisystemic Therapy
Intensive clinical services and support to children and youth (ages 12-17) returning from out-of-home care or who are at risk of requiring out-of-home care due to problems of delinquency, disruptive behavior and/or substance use.
MST - EA also known as MST-TAY
An intensive, community-based intervention (ages17-20) with mental health and/or substance use disorders who are aging out of foster care, involved in child welfare or justice involved.
SSTRY - Substance Screening, Treatment and Recovery for Youth
Uses the Community Reinforcement Approach-Assertive Continuing Care model in an office-based substance use treatment program that helps young people (ages 12-24) develop positive relationships, build life skills and connect to services & social activities in their community.
